Should I Wear Sunscreen Year-Round?

The headlines are abuzz with the latest study recommending year-round sunscreen

Australian researchers found that when adults regularly used broad spectrum sunscreen - which protects against both ultraviolet B and ultraviolet A rays --  they were less likely to show increased wrinkling over a four-and-a-half-year period than adults who used sunscreen less often.”

One reason this study is making news is because, instead of using hairless mice as they had done in the past, they actually used humans.  Their findings?  The skin of regular sunscreen users showed 24% less aging.

The recommendations include daily broad spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 20 - 30 with frequent applications, especially if you’re sweating or swimming.   Higher SPF numbers don’t significantly increase your protection.

There are many new and improved sunscreens available with luxurious textures and tinting.  Find one that feels good on your skin and has a texture you’ll enjoy applying daily.
