Live Actively with Varicose Vein Treatment

On a recent golf trip in Clearwater, Florida, I came across this tame little fellow who enjoyed the peanuts I was carrying. His amazing color reminded me that what one expects is not always what one gets.  The same holds true for varicose vein treatment.

People with active lives need healthy legs.  Today, I saw a patient in our Frederick, Maryland office who is an avid golfer.  He recently had the Venefit treatment for varicose veins and, during his follow up appointment, said all his symptoms were relieved and he was able to walk 18 holes without fatigue.  Another patient, a woman who is "addicted" to golf, came in seeking relief from varicose vein pain.  I was able to reassure the patient that we could correct her venous reflux and get her up and golfing (minus the fatigue) in no time!

How am I able to instill this type of confidence in my patients?  As a board certified vascular surgeon and a fellow of the American College of Phlebology, my focus is to educate patients and provide them with the best possible treatment for venous disease.  Since “old” methods of vein care were painful, veins came back, and insurance did not cover the procedure, some patients are reluctant to seek treatment.  In reality, varicose vein treatments like Venefit (VNUS Closure) and Microphlebectomy are comfortable, in office procedures that relieve the symptoms and unsightly appearance of varicose veins. Both procedures are generally covered by insurance.

If your legs are aching, tired or swollen, you may be suffering from venous insufficiency and would benefit from an evaluation.  Like both of my golfer patients, you’ll be on your way to great looking, symptom free legs.  Contact Capitol Vein & Laser Center to schedule your evaluation.
