Paul M. McNeill, MD Attends ACP Meeting

I recently attended the American College of Phlebology annual Clinical Congress meeting in Los Angeles, California. I am Board Certified in Phlebology from the American Board of Phlebology, as is my colleague Garth Rosenberg, MD. The meeting was a beehive of activity discussing all manner of diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins, spider veins, blood clots of the legs, and practice management. I am happy to report that Capitol Vein and Laser Center continues to be on the cutting edge of vein care in the United States. Our four centers on Frederick, MD; Bethesda, MD; Charles Town, WV; and Leesburg, VA offer expert care (VNUS Closure, phlebectomy, sclerotherapy) in the most welcoming environment.

When I returned home, I learned that the parent of a neighbor had phlebitis two months ago and was just recently hospitalized with a pulmonary embolus, or blood clot to the lungs. That is a dangerous complication of varicose veins. Good varicose vein treatment that addresses problems early in the course of the disease prevents such outcomes from occurring.
