"My legs don't hurt, I just want them to look better."

Some patients present varicose veins and say, "My legs don’t hurt.  I just want them to look better." Many of these patients do not realize that varicose veins can also cause leg fatigue. A venous duplex scan reveals venous reflux in the Saphenous Vein and varicose veins that I treat with VNUS Closure and phlebectomy

One such patient came in today.  Previously, she had experienced symptoms of Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) and had a hard time sitting for long periods of time,s o we treated her with VNUS Closure and phlebectomy.
She just returned from a week of outdoor activity in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She was thrilled to tell me all about her trip—she was able to hike, climb and bike without any leg discomfort or fatigue.  Her legs felt fine during the long plane ride, with no more itchiness or discomfort.

The benefits to treating varicose veins often goes beyond eliminating pain and changing the appearance of patients' legs. Relief from venous insufficiency symptoms may include decreased leg fatigue, reduced ankle swelling, relief from RLS, sleeping more soundly, and more energy with activity.
