ClariVein®: A New Varicose Vein Treatment

The ClariVein® device has been developed as an alternative varicose vein treatment for Greater Saphenous Vein Reflux and Venous Insufficiency. This device seals closed the saphenous vein using a combination of sclerotherapy and ablation. This accomplishes what VNUS Closure and EVLT achieve in the effort to stop venous reflux. Vascular Lab evaluation detects venous reflux associated with varicose veins, a swollen leg or restless leg syndrome. Not all vein clinics offer ClariVein. Treatment of varicose veins has become more frequently employed with the development of minimally invasive techniques. The ClariVein device agitates the lining of the refluxing vein while sclerotherapy is administered simultaneously to close the vein.  Unlike thermal ablation, this requires no anesthetic.
